Dr. Linda Bieri (DDS ’78) and Dr. Steven Christensen (DDS ’86) have a private practice together in Laurens, Iowa. As graduates of the University of Iowa College of Dentistry, they realize the importance of hands-on experience and are excited to provide engaging learning opportunities within their office. They currently host and supervise one UI dental student a year through the Extramural Dental Education Program. Dr. Bieri and Dr. Christensen realize that helping 4th year dental students gain workplace experience is vital in helping the students develop a greater understanding of their chosen profession.
Dr. Bieri and Dr. Christensen enjoy working with students from across the state and have started a housing fund for their student dentist so they will be able to live and enjoy northwest Iowa. Dr. Bieri and Dr. Christensen hope that by exposing their student to northwest Iowa they will realize the benefits of living in a rural community and will consider it for a location post-graduation.
Being in business together for almost 25 years, Dr. Bieri and Dr. Christensen are grateful for the education and learning experiences that UI College of Dentistry provided to them. They are thrilled that they are able to give back to their community and their school.
